Thomas Jonathon Jackson “Jack” Christian was born in 1888 to his mother, Julia Jackson Christian. She passed away in 1889. He grew up with his sister and father through his childhood. Like his grandfather, he entered the Military Academy when he grew of age in 1907. He graduated in 1911 and served three years in the Philippines from 1911 to 1914. In 1914, he returned home to marry his first wife, Bertha Cook. They would have two children together. Their first child, Thomas Jackson Christian, Jr. would pass away while being shot down in World War II in Arras, France in 1944. He was flying a P-51 fighter plane. His body was never recovered.
