Every paranormal investigator has their own sort of equipment to use when doing their research in the field. Some spend hundreds to thousands of dollars to get the best out there and show what each means. These would include full spectrum cameras, night vision camcorders, and toy animals with sensors in them, and dead bell “school bell” for the spirit to “ring”. If your just looking to explore the paranormal, like myself, that’s more on a small budget, look into these four sensors to explore the unknown.
These four things below are what I use in the field, along with my sense of smell, hearing, and seeing. Four simple and inexpensive ways to explore the dark and the spirits that linger. They are in order: cat balls, dowsing rods, PSB-7 Spirit Box, and an EMF Detector. The myth goes that spirits exort energy.
The cat balls are just for that. If a spirit touches the ball, it might move, but more likely light up. We’re not moving the ball, they are, so explain to them that if they touch the ball, it won’t hurt them in anyway, but it will shed some light to their actions. Dowsing rods are good to ask simple yes or no questions as the spirit moves the rods and they cross. Try not to do it near a body of water since the rods will automatically cross from the energy that water gives off.

The third thing is a PSB-7 Spirit Box. This has a few functions that allow paranormal investigators to explore. There is usually a temperature gauge that records the heat or the cold surrounding the air around the box. If it’s a cold night, ask the spirit to try to make it light up red (usually for heat). If it’s a hot night, ask just the opposite for blue to represent cold air. This instrument also allows you to “hear” what they may say in words or complete sentences. The four object is a EMF detector which looks for energy in the air. If there is something around you, it will light up green, yellow, orange, and red. If someone is contacting you, ask questions like: if you are a woman, can you light up the equipment to yellow, please?
